Hanso Foundation Secretly Researching the Equation?

It has come to our attention that the Hanso Foundation might be using autistic savants to research the material applications of the Valenzetti equation.

It seem there is a person working behind the scenes at the Hanso Foundation who shares our concern over the secrecy of the Hanso Foundation's research and she has supplied us with some evidence.

dharma letter

The Hanso Foundation is investing a lot of time, and risk to their altruistic reputation, to unlock the power they believe can be gleaned from the Equation. Should this kind of power be kept in the hands of ONE organization? What do they intend to do with this research?

Hugh McIntyre, Director of Communications of the Hanso Foundation, prides himself on "accuracy and transparency". Oh really, Hugh? How about you live up to these words and make a statement explaining what is going on at the Vik Institute?

I have emailed Hugh McIntyre asking for a statement in response to these recent revelations. I ask that everyone do the same. Please make sure to include the URL to this website in your letters to Hugh. Together we can do this.

Special thanks to Tresbien for bringing this to our attention. The movement is stronger for your participation in it.

Sent earlier today:
"Mr. McIntyre:

While the aims of the Hanso group are undoubtedly altruistic, I find the most recent news about the Foundation most unsettling:

How could you?

Autistic individuals have enough uphill battles, especially those whose families would seek treatment for them at such a place as the Vik Institute. To subject these people to the whims of mad scientists such as Hanso is continually reported to be is nothing short of inhuman cruelty.

You will note that the handle I've chosen for this email address includes the letters SLP, a nod to my vocation of speech language pathology. In my weekly sessions, I actively treat anywhere from four to seven autistic children (while interacting with many more, seen by other therapists), who despite the associated behavioral issues autism brings to the fore are loving and lovable souls on every level. To think of the horrors of unnamed doctors manipulating and abusing these unfortunates left to Hanso's/Vik's care makes me physically ill.

Expect mobilization from those of like mind of me...and it would be good to strengthen your barricades, as it will be one hell of a battle.

Well, I couldn't not NOT after reading that.

Friggin' Hanso. I was fine letting them go all frankenstein before the autistic thing.

After reading the Watchmen graphic novel and its bleakness re: humanity, Hanso's real life ickiness just...unsettled me.

If only I could do more to help Persephone...

Hey Alarose, I saw that... it happens to the best of us.

You know what'll make you feel better? Writing an email to Hugh like I did.

"""I expect people to be smart enough to use the FIND function on their browser...

Try it.

Click View, Find on this page, and type "podcast"... And hit find next.

It's a very fast way to skim the whole website and see if someone mentioned podcast.

And you don't have to read the whole thread.

I guess it's easier to make the thread EVEN LONGER by just posting a question, but you know what? EASY = LAZY""""

I about fell outta my chair laughing when I read this Vex. Someone had to say it.

I'm not always too good with words. Do you think Jeff would mind if I copied his letter? Or does someone else have a form letter I could use?

Or do you think a "form" letter would water it down too much?

Skirtz, here's a good form letter:

Hello Mr. McIntyre,

I am part of an online movement dedicated to finding out why your organization has kept the Valenzetti equation from the public.

In the spirit of fairness, we invite you to live up to your motto ("accuracy and transparency above all") and give us the Hanso Foundation's side of the issue. I assure you, our organization is committed to finding out the truth. You could help ensure an accurate depiction of your organization's activities regarding this matter with a statement.

Please visit our website: http://findvalenzetti.blogspot.com/

Feel free to post a comment on the blog itself, or if you prefer, you can respond to this email and I will forward it to our administrator who will post it on the blog under its own section.

We're not interested in damaging the Foundation's reputation. We just want the truth.

Thank you and I look forward to your prompt response.

Just wanted to report that my latest attempt to get information about Alvar and TVE was to write to Hyperion about Gary Troup's work in progress about the Hanso Foundation. Hopefully, there are working notes and/or manuscripts that we might obtain. I'll report back with any information I get.
